Enable or Disable downloading other folder in Outlook

In Outlook you have the option to enable or disable the downloading of shared folders.

If you frequently access other folders, such as shared calendars, enabling this setting may improve performance.

If you have a large mailbox, or are accessing a lot of shared folders, enabling this setting may negatively impact Outlook performance.

To change this setting within Outlook Go to File - Account Settings


Double click your email address in the Email Tab

Select more Settings

Select the Advanced Tab

Enable or disable the option to Download shared folders
