Accessing Office 365 Services through the web

Office 365 aka O365 is a cloud based service and all data is stored on Microsoft’s datacenters. While many applications have a program you can install locally to interact with this data, most applications also have a lightweight web version as well.

O365 login

Your login information is synchronized with the internal Precon network. Your username is your email address, and your password is synchronized with your desktop password.

The main login page is http://portal.office.com although many applications have direct login pages to access the application you want faster.

Access to other application is available from the main portal or within the application by the menu bar on the top right of the window.

Mailbox Most email interaction is primarily through Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer, or from a synchronization to your phone or tablet. As the data is maintained on the server, all data is the same, no matter what device or how many devices you utilize.

There is also a lightweight email web client. You can access this from the main portal login or directly via http://Outlook.office365.com

From the web client you can access all the data in your mailbox, including subfolder, calendars, tasks and contacts. You can also adjust setting such as your Out of Office message.
